Welcome to Rules and Regulations

1. All Animals & Articles exhibited must be competitor’s bona-fide property.
2. The arrangements of the Show will be conducted by a Committee of Management and all persons entering the Show Grounds are subject to the direction of the Committee, Stewards and Safety Officer.
3. Intending Competitors must lodge with the Secretary a complete list of their entries, numbered according to the Prize List, on forms supplied by the Secretary.
4. The Judges Award shall be final and binding upon all parties concerned.
5. Objections must be lodged with the Secretary within half an hour after the award, accompanied by a deposit of €25 which will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained or considered frivolous by the Show Committee.
6. The Judge may withhold the Prizes in any section for want of merit.
7. No person shall interfere with any Judge before or during their adjudication, only the Stewards appointed to remain in the judging ring during the adjudication. Any exhibitor breaking this regulation will be disqualified from receiving a prize in the section in which they are exhibiting at time of offence. Any person annoying or interfering with any Judge shall be excluded and any prizes awarded at the Show to such a person shall be forfeited.
8. Neither the Society nor any of its Officers or Servants shall be in any way responsible or accountable for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstance whatsoever) to Exhibitors or their Servants or to property brought to the Show Grounds, or for anything else in connection with, or arising out of, or attributable to the Society’s Show.
9. The Society shall in no way be responsible for any accident, loss or damage from whatsoever cause arising to any person or exhibit.
10. Only one caretaker or servant for each lot of Horses, Cattle and Sheep. All Horses, Cattle and Dogs must be lead at all times, unless otherwise stated.
11. Exhibitors may enter Horses, Cattle and Sheep in any class for which they are eligible, but any animal obtaining first prizes cannot be shown in any other class. They will, however, be eligible for Championship and Special Awards.
12. Perpetual Cups & Trophies must be returned to the Secretary at least 3 weeks before Show date every year.
13. Should any matter arise not providing for in the foregoing rules and regulations, such matter shall be referred to the committee, whose decision shall be final and binding – no appeal to law in any case permitted.
14. There must be three animals in a class in order for 2nd prize to be awarded and four animals in order for 3rd to be awarded, unless the Judge decides the standard is sufficiently high enough.
15. All entries must reach the Secretary one week before the Show date on a proper entry form accompanied with the proper entry fee. Under no circumstances will entries be accepted on the morning of the Show, except Dogs.
16. All hawkers and traders must provide Insurance for Show Day. The Show Committee will not be held accountable for any accident which may occur on or at their stall.
17. These Rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association General Rules.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ANIMAL OWNERS INVOLVED IN SHOWING ANIMALS
The I.S.A would advise all animal owners who have their animals insured to have it extended to cover them while showing animals at Shows. We understand that it will cost very little or nothing at all, depending on your insurance provider.  

If you are one of the few who do not have cover, we would advise that you think about putting it in place for this purpose - it is very worthwhile.

The reason for us giving you this advice is to protect yourself in the event of your animal lashing out and injuring someone or damaging someone’s property. If that were to happen, and it is established that your animal was out of your control, you may be held responsible, or partly responsible, for any injury or damage caused and may lead to you paying all or part of any settlement reached.
